Peer Review Process
Acta Pulmonologica applies a double-blind peer review process to ensure the scientific quality, validity, and ethical integrity of all published articles. This process is conducted in accordance with the principles and best practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
All manuscripts submitted to the journal undergo an initial editorial screening to assess their suitability to the journal’s scope, compliance with author guidelines, and adherence to ethical standards, including plagiarism screening.
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are reviewed by at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise. Reviewers are selected based on academic competence and the absence of conflicts of interest. They are required to evaluate manuscripts objectively and provide constructive and confidential assessments.
Based on the reviewers’ reports, the editor makes the final editorial decision, which may include acceptance, revision, or rejection. Authors are required to respond to reviewers’ comments and revise their manuscripts accordingly. Revised manuscripts may be subject to further review when necessary.
All manuscripts, reviewer reports, and editorial communications are treated as confidential. Any suspected ethical issues identified during the peer-review process will be handled in accordance with the journal’s Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement and COPE guidelines.
